Google Algorithm - Panda, Penguin, Humming Bird and more


Panda:  The stated purpose of the Google Panda (Introduced in February 2011) algorithm update was to reward high quality websites and diminish the presence of low quality websites in Google  organic search engine result.


Penguin: Penguin update was announced by Google as a new effort to reward high quality websites and diminish the search engine results page presence of websites that engaged in manipulative links schemes  and Keyword stuffing.


Humming Bird: Humming Bird signaled Google commitment to an increasingly sophisticated understanding of the intent of searcher’s quiries with the goal of matching them to more relevant results.


Pigeon:  The update is aimed to increase the ranking of local listing in search. The changes will also affect the search results shown in   Google along with the regular Google search results.



Rank-Brain: Rank-Brain is an algorithm learning artificial intelligence system. It helps Google to process search results and provide more relevant search result for users.






Mobile Algorithm: The new Google mobile friendly algorithm is supposed to give an additional ranking boost for mobile friendly websites in the mobile  search results.
